Yes, we’re all in “survival mode”, you are not alone!
At times like these you don’t call a friend and ask “how are you doing?” But instead, the question should be “how are you coping?”
Now more than ever, we need to find rest and peace for our emotions by creating a "new normal" that will benefit us.
How can we find peace in the midst of chaos?
With so much information available it is really important that we filter everything so we don’t clog our minds with “noise”. You need to decide on what you should be feeding your mind and act on it every time your brain craves for more information.
Balance comes from a combination of achievement and fulfillment. Some people devote a lot of time on tasks and neglect their emotions. Be careful with the amount of projects that you are involved in, you might think that you are being productive when in reality, you are overwhelming your brain. Take some time to reach out and encourage others. If your goals only benefit you, they will fulfill you temporarily until you need to find another task or another goal.
What fulfills you?
There is a quote that I like to keep really close to my heart. It helps to keep me in track, it says:
“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
Self awareness helps us look at ourselves objectively. Since we are creatures of behavior, we constantly make unconscious decisions based on habit and conditioning. So, if we don’t master our thoughts, they will master us.
Be intentional in everything that you do during this time and condition yourself to having healthy thoughts.
I want to propose to you a simple action plan:
1 - Make a daily commitment to yourself to be happy no matter what happens to you.
2 - Remove all the virtual “noise” that could be clogging your mind.
3 - Focus only on good information, the “stuff that might actually be useful” for you.
